The Department of Commerce and Management in association with Canara Robeco Mutual Fund organised a workshop on Wealth Creation through Equity on 21st February 2024 at the Conference Hall, Hotel Manoshanti, Panaji. The workshop aimed to enlighten students about the significance of equity investments in wealth creation and financial planning. 50 SY B.Com students, accompanied by faculty members, Mr. Ainsley Bernard and Ms. Akshada Gaonkar attended the workshop.
The workshop commenced with an introductory session on equity investments. The speakers from Canara Robeco Mutual Funds provided insights into the concept of equity, its types, and the potential returns associated with equity investments. Students were educated about the dynamics of the stock market, including the factors influencing stock prices, market trends and risk management strategies. Real-life examples and case studies were presented to enhance understanding. Various investment strategies were discussed during the workshop, ranging from value investing to growth investing and diversification techniques. Participants gained knowledge about selecting promising stocks and building a well-balanced investment portfolio.
The session also shed light on the role of mutual funds in equity investments. A lively question and answer session followed the presentations, allowing participants to clarify their doubts and engage in insightful discussions with the speakers.
The workshop served as a valuable platform for students to gain hands-on knowledge of wealth creation through equity.
