The Internal Quality Assurance Cell organised a half-day workshop on “Documentation process for NAAC Reaccreditation in the New Framework” on 18th January 2020 from 9:00 am to 1:20 pm in the Smart Classroom. The Resource Persons for the sessions were Dr. Kishor Sukhtankar – Principal, Dr. Rajiv Sapre – IQAC Coordinator and Dr. Makarand Sakhalkar– Head, Department of Commerce, all from RES’s Gogate-Joglekar College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Ratnagiri- Maharashtra, an institution with a re-accreditation of A grade by NAAC with a CGPA of 3.31. The objective of the workshop was to gain useful insights on NAAC documentation process from the highly experienced team of speakers.
The workshop commenced with the Principal, Dr. Prita D. Mallya welcoming the gathering. The Principal in her address expressed her gratitude towards the guests for agreeing to participate in the workshop and congratulated them for consistent A grade rating by NAAC. She emphasized the significance of documentation in the preparation for NAAC accreditation.
Dr. Rodney D’Silva introduced the Resource Persons.
The first session was delivered by Dr. Rajiv Sapre. Dr. Sapre spoke about the significant role played by the IQAC in any institution. The IQAC is the think tank of the College and every new activity relating to academics, cultural and sports activities should be routed through the IQAC. Dr. Sapre also spoke on how every activity conducted in the institution should have a proper flow and should be supported with the required documentary evidences as required by NAAC and geo tagged photographs wherever necessary.
The Resource Person for the second session was Dr. Makarand Shakhalkar. He stressed that everyone should go through the document, manual, formats, and SOPs available on the NAAC website. He mentioned the 3 different types of types of data to be collected namely, extended profile, Qualitative and Quantitative data.
He gave a detailed explanation on the Quantitative Metrics of different Criteria and Key Indicators along with the documents required to be collected (as mentioned in NAAC SOP). The doubts and concerns raised by faculty members were clarified by the Resource Person and clarifications were recorded by the IQAC members.
The third session for the day was by Dr Kishore Sukhatankar. He shared his rich experience with three cycles of NAAC accreditation process. He gave a very lucid explanation of all the criteria and key indicators and clarified the doubts and queries raised by the IQAC Members.
The workshop concluded with Dr. Shami Pai, the IQAC Coordinator, proposing the Vote of Thanks.
