The Department of Computer Science organised a hands-on workshop on Canva for Education for the teachers of various Higher Secondary Schools in and around Margao in the College campus. This workshop was held on 25th February 2023 from 9:00 to 11:30 am in the College Lab.
Canva is an online free graphic design platform that is used for making invitations, business cards, Instagram posts, presentations and many more. Considering the importance of Canva as a tool for Education, the Department initiated this workshop as a part of the community outreach programme.
The Resource person was Mr. Ramkrishna Reddy, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Computer Science, VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics.
The workshop began with a welcome address by the Principal, Prof. Prita D Mallya. The Resource Person was introduced by the faculty Incharge, Ms Rama Borkar.
The Topics Covered in the workshop were:
- Creating an account in Canva
- Introduction to Canva user interface
- Basic design principles
- Creating simple graphics
- Downloading and sharing your work
- Shortcuts in Canva
- Creating a poster design
- Creating a certificate Design
- Creating slideshow presentations
- Creating video
Head of the Dept., Mr Sumit Kumar proposed the Vote of Thanks. The course was offered free to the teachers and an e-certificate was given at the end of the course. 13 teachers from 8 Higher Secondary Schools benefited from the workshop.
