The Placement Cell, Career Cell and the Department of Commerce in association with ICFAI Business School, Bangalore organized a webinar on the topic “Emerging Careers Post COVID-19” on 27th October, 2020 from 12.00 to 1.30pm through Zoom. The Resource Person for the program was Prof. Anand Srinivasan, Faculty, ICFAI Business School, Bangalore.
The session began with the welcome address delivered by Professor and Principal Dr. PritaMallya; she mentioned how the Pandemic has disrupted our normal lives and how each day poses fresh challenges.
Ms. Grishmi Thakur, Asst. Professor in Commerce introduced the Resource Person for the session. Prof. Anand began the session by discussing the impact of COVID-19 on the employment sector and highlighting the career options available for young graduates during the time of pandemic.
During the session, the speaker gave industry insights on the various type of skill sets required at the time of hiring and how students should prepare for the same. He stressed upon the need for having professional attitude, communication skills, leadership qualities, adaptability, technological skills, creativity and innovative ideas to grab the best opportunities available in the job market. He urged students to undertake various online certificate courses and upgrade their skills.
The webinar was successful in educating the students on the formation of a strong base in the career of their choice. Ms. Lizette D’Souza, Asst. Prof. Dept of Economics, proposed the Vote of Thanks. A total of 66 Students from FY, SY and TY B.Com, BBA, BCA and M.Com attended the session.
