The NSS unit of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao in association with Rotary Club of Margao Midtown, Rotary Club of Cuncolim and Rotary Club of Panaji, organized a webinar on “Pandemic COVID-19 a Challenge and Path forward” on 22nd October 2020 from 12.00 pm to 1.00 pm. A total of 70 participants attended the webinar which included NSS Programme Officers. The Resource Person for the webinar was Dr. Jorson Fernandes, an ENT Surgeon and a trainer Icon Awardee of Goa.
Dr. Fernandes touched upon various issues related to COVID such as origin of the pandemic, how it spreads, the symptoms of COVID-19, the risk factors involved, difference between quarantine and isolation, etc. He urged people to maintain social distancing, wash hands thoroughly with soap or gel sanitizer, avoid touching MEN that is Mouth, Eyes and Nose without washing hands with soap and avoid 3 C’s i.e. close contact, closed places and crowded places. He strongly recommended that people should greet each other by saying Namaste, not by giving handshake, High five and first bump. By doing so we can keep the virus away. The session was truly rewarding and productive.
