Webinar on “Digital Trends: Transforming HR Practices”

IMG_20201217_160247The BBA(Financial Services) Department organised a Webinar on “Digital Trends: Transforming HR Practices” on 17th December 2020 from 12:00 noon to 01:00 p.m. using Google Meet platform. The objective of the webinar was to help students understand the shift towards digital HR. The resource person for the webinar was Mr. Ravi Rebello, Director HR, CommScope India & SAARC.

At the outset, Dr. Rodney D’Silva, Vice-Principal of the College welcomed the resource person followed by the introduction of the resource person by Mr. Kirsten Kenneth Da Costa from FY BBA(FS).

Mr. Ravi Rebello commenced the webinar with a brief introduction on Digital HR followed by an elaborate explanation on the following topics:

What is Digital HR?

Covid-19 and its impact on organizations

Digital HR trends 2021 and beyond

Practical examples of digital HR

Mr. Rebello emphasized on talent acquisition maturity model on boarding, talent connection cloud (supporting the employee life cycle), CommScope fast facts and digital HR journey-Dave Ulrich. He concluded the webinar by mentioning that to compete effectively, start with shifting your perspective. However, by promoting transformation and digital HR, it is possible to understand how much technology can improve the workflow of the people throughout business, and free up valuable time that can be dedicated to core activities. The webinar ended with question and answer session, wherein Mr. Ravi Rebello ably answered all the questions raised by the participants.

Overall, the webinar was very interactive, interesting and successful; the participants provided a very positive and motivating feedback for the same.

The College received a total of 63 registrations, and 52 participants attended the webinar, which ended at 01:00 p.m. with the vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Darren De Souza from FY BBA(FS)-A. Assistant Professor Ms. Trisha Vadil compered the session, which was coordinated by Assistant Professor Ms. Lizia V. Gomes.
