The Department of Computer Science organized a Career Guidance webinar titled “Career roadmap in the IT Sector” aimed to provide valuable insights into career paths and opportunities available to students after completing their 12th standard in the field of IT on 8th May 2024 via Google Meet and YouTube streaming from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The webinar witnessed the participation of over 92 students, 6 faculty members, and esteemed guests from Google Meet and 17 from YouTube.
The event commenced with a warm welcome extended by the Officiating Principal, Prof. Sanjay P. Sawant Dessai, setting the tone for the informative sessions ahead. Ms. Sweta Verenkar, Assistant Professor in Computer Science, served as the compère for the session and introduced the Resource Person, Ms. Sangeeta Naik, Partner and Executive Editor of Digital Goa, Panaji. Ms. Sangeeta Ma’am delivered an enlightening session on the career opportunities in the IT industry, with a special focus in Goa. She provided valuable insights into the growth of the IT sector in the region, emerging job roles, and the skills required to excel in this dynamic field.
Ms. Sweta Vernekar continued to guide the session as the compère and introduced the next Resource Person, Mr. Mohsin Shaikh, Founder and CEO of Haztech Innovation, Margao and a vibrant MoU Partner of the College. Mr. Mohsin Shaikh conducted an engaging session shedding light on the educational approach adopted by Shree Damodar College and the myriad opportunities available to graduates in the field of Computer Applications (BCA) and B.Voc (Software Technologies). His first-hand experiences and success stories served as inspiration for aspiring students, emphasizing the importance of practical learning and innovation in today’s competitive world.
Following the informative session, Ms. Vinaya Kirloskar, Assistant Professor, facilitated a Q & A session. Before concluding the event, Mr. Sumit Kumar, Coordinator of BCA & B.Voc (Software Technologies) Programmes, briefed the students about the courses offered at Shree Damodar College, highlighting the curriculum structure and industry-relevant skills imparted to students. Subsequently, he delivered Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the Resource Persons and attendees for their valuable contributions towards making the seminar a resounding success. The overall in-charge for the webinar was Mr. Sameer Patil, Ms. Rama Borkar and Ms. Vinaya Kirloskar. The Department of Computer Science also expresses their Gratitude to Ms. Ekta Agarwal for her constant guidance and inputs in conducting the webinar.
