The Library & Information Centre and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with IIT, Kharagpur, West Bengal organized a National Level Webinar on Awareness Program on e-Resources of NDLI (National Digital Library of India) for students, librarians and faculty members from Colleges all over the country on October 19, 2020 from 12.00 – 1.30 pm.
The webinar commenced with the welcome address delivered by the Principal. IQAC Coordinator Dr. Shami Pai introduced the Resource Person, Dr. Vignesh Sornamohan, Chief Strategic and Outreach Officer, National Digital Library of India, IIT Kharagpur.
Dr. Vignesh Sornamohan first spoke about the beginnings of NDLI – he said it had been launched by Ministry of Education, New Delhi and IIT, Kharagpur is the implementing institution. In his presentation, the Resource Person elaborated upon NDLI and its features, as well as the wide range of e-resources made available on NDLI Platform. He explained Use-Models of Content Access, Web Content Harvesting, NDLI Repository, Content contribution and Learning Management System. He demonstrated how NDLI e-resources could be browsed by type, subject, and sources. He also demonstrated how users could access different types of Learning Resources such as E- articles, audio lectures, e-books, Question papers, Theses, and Video Lectures. He emphasized that NDLI has taken special care of young students during the COVID-19 pandemic by offering e-resources for students of CBSE class 9,10 11 and 12. Participants were shown how to install NDLI App on their phones through Playstore via the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mhrd.ndl&hl=en_IN.
