Virtual Elocution Competition

The BBA(Financial Services) Department celebrated Management Day in association with Goa Management Associationon Tuesday, 23rd February 2021 from 09:00 a.m. to 02:00 p.m. through the Google Meet platform. A Virtual Elocution Competition was organized to celebrate the day. Eight academic institutions from Goa offering Management Education at Undergraduate and Post-Graduate level (06 UG colleges and 02 PG colleges) participated in the competition. The function had 63 participants.

Asst. Prof. Ms. Trisha Vadil was the compere for the Inaugural Function. Mr. Amin Ladak, Chairman, Goa Management Association welcomed the virtual gathering. He highlighted the importance of the theme by mentioning that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a massive turbulence, and in that context, the theme of the Management Day is certainly thought provoking for exploring sustainable solutions and therefore, is much needed. He also mentioned the excellent panel discussion organized by the Goa Management Association on 19thFebruary 2021.

Prof. Dr. Prita D. Mallya, Principal, VVM’s Shree Damodar College addressed the virtual gathering. She appreciated the initiative of Goa Management Association to provide a plethora of opportunities for Management students to nurture their aptitude and traits.

Asst. Prof. Ms. Swati Bhat introduced the keynote Speaker, Prof. Dr. Ajit Parulekar, Director, Goa Institute of Management, Sanquelim. Prof. Parulekar commenced his address by appreciating the selection of the theme as it is a very stimulating and challenging topic for exchange of thoughts. He highlighted that the wave of change is not just the outcome of pandemic, it is an omnipresent element of everyone’s lives and activities

The Elocution Competition in the UG category was judged by Mr. Cosme Araujo, Deputy General Manager (Mechanical Maintenance) Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited Zuarinagar, Goa and Ms. Divya Lalwani, BMS Coordinator, R.A. Podar College of Commerce and Economics Mumbai.

The PG category was judged by Ms. Zena Andrade, Former Senior Manager Human Resource, Zauri AgroChemicals Ltd and Prof. Santhosh Rebello, Professor & Dean, School of Information Technology & Bioinformatics, Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology, St Aloysius College Autonomous Mangalore.

The results of the virtual elocution competition were declared at the Valedictory function. Under the UG category, S. S. Dempo College of Commerce & Economics, Bambolim secured the first place and St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa Goa secured the First Runner Up place. Under the PG category, S. S. Dempo College of Commerce & Economics, Bambolim secured the first place.

Asst. Prof. Ms. CinolaVaz, Programme Coordinator, BBA(Financial Services), proposed the Vote of Thanks. Asst. Prof. Ms. Grishmi Thakur was the faculty in-charge of the function. The participants provided very positive feedback about the function. All the participants were provided system generated E-certificates after the function.
