Vidya Vikas Mandal’s Sports Council held its annual Achievers Awards Ceremony, celebrating the achievements and dedication of its student athletes on 30th March 2024. The ceremony underscored the importance of sportsmanship, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence.
Guest speakers, renowned sports personalities Robin D’Souza, Teddy Cardozo, and Stany D’Souza, inspired the athletes with their journeys and experiences. Mr. D’Souza, a well known cricket coach, shared his experiences guiding various teams. Mr. Cardozo, an accomplished long distance runner emphasized the value of sports in youth development. Mr. D’Souza, a para Cricket player, exemplified excellence across disciplines.
The function was moderated by Mr. Niraj Prabhu. Mr. Nitin Kunkolienker, President of Vidya Vikas Mandal, explained the importance of sports in well-rounded development of an individual. The ceremony culminated in the much-anticipated award presentation. Chief Guest Mr. Rohan Gauns Dessai presented mementos to the student athletes from Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Ramacrisna Mahadev Salgaocar Higher Secondary School, Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, and Vidya Vikas Academy. 68 students from Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics were awarded.
Mr. Gauns Dessai’s address provided valuable insights and motivated the students. Mementos were presented to the guest speakers and Mr. Gauns Dessai in appreciation of their participation. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sports Council Member Secretary Mr. Siddharth Faldesai. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem.
