Two-Day National Conference on Co-operatives in a Globalized Economy: Relevance, Issues and Challenges

Seven M.Com students presented papers at Two-Day National Conference on Co-operatives in a Globalized Economy: Relevance, Issues and Challengesorganized by the Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce Khandola, Marcela, Goa on 23rd and 24th  January 2020

The M.Com students presented the following research papers at the conference:

  1. ‘A Study on Cooperative Banks in Ponda’ by Gayatri Samant, Raajus Kurtarkar and Nita Sawant
  2. ‘A Study on Financial Evaluation of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, Students’ Consumer Cooperative Society’ by Mruga Naik.
  3. ‘Challenges Faced by Cooperatives in the Knowledge Economy’ by Crystal Barreto, Sahil Pagui and Janice Gomes.

The Conference was inaugurated by Dr. D.M. Deshpande and Prof. Anil M. Karanjkar

There were 12 technical sessions, of which 9 were conducted on 23rd January 2020 and 3 on 24th January2020. There was a Panel discussion with the following members:

2) Dr.D.M. Deshpande

3) Mr. Suresh Parrikar

4) Mr. Ulhas Umarye

5)Dr. Sanjay Sawant

6)Adv. Vinayak Narvekar

The panelists discussed the importance of the cooperative sector for the growth of an economy, various challenges faced, technological advancement undertaken recently in this sector. The conference concluded with the vote of thanks.
