The Computer Science Department organized a Tech day on 27th May 2022. The Inaugural Ceremony was held at 10.10 am sharp. The Chief Guest for Inaugural Function was Mr. Anay kamat, Director of Mobile Technology, Srijan technologies. The inaugural ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. Prita Mallya, Principal, Dr. Rodney D’Silva, Vice Principal, Ms. Shami Pai, IQAC Coordinator and Mr. Sumit Kumar, HOD of CS Department. Ms. Nishigandha Naik Gaonkar, Assistant Professor, Computer Science department introduced the Chief Guest.
After the Inaugural Function, Industry interaction session began at 10.30am. The speaker of session was Mr. Anay Kamat. The topic of the session was “Agile Software Delivery” and “How to build program logic”. This session was attended by around 45 students from BCA and B.Voc programme. Mr. Anay Kamat began the session by explaining how to interact with the clients and also to provide training about the software during the phase of development. The Faculty In charge for interaction session was Mr. Sameer Patil, Assistant Professor, CS Department.
Along with the interaction session there was presentation competition going on which began at 10.45 am. 11 students participated from various programmes. The judges for this competition were Dr. Edwin Barretto, Associate Professor, Commerce Department and Mr. Andre Pacheco, Assistant Professor, CS Department. The winners of this competition were Aaron goes, TY BBA who secured 1st place and Delwyn fernandes, SY BCA A who secured the 2nd Place. The Faculty Incharge was Ms. Rajlaxmi S. Nair, Assistant Professor, CS Department. The student Incharges were Duena Cabral, Lovely Ramchandani, Nesmod Fernandes and Sagar Chaudhari from SY BCA.
The next competition was Quiz competition which began at 12.30 pm. 9 students from BCA & B.Voc participated in this competition. The winners of this competition were Smruti Kudnekar, TY BVoc and Darren Dias, SY BCA Division A. The competition Incharge was Ms. Sneha Prabhudessai, Assistant Professor, CS Department. The student Incharge were Kunal Singh, FY B.Voc and Ruchika Chaudhari, SY B.Voc.
At 12.30 pm, Keyboard Warrior competition was held in Lab 2. 20 students from BCA & B.Voc participated in this competition. First place for this competition was secured by Kris Rego, SY B.Voc and second place was secured by Mallik Rehan, FY B.Voc. The Faculty Incharge for this competition was Ms. Ankita Naik, Assistant professor, CS Department.
After the Lunch break, Gaming competition was held at 2.00 pm. 24 students participated in FIFA game. The winner of this game was Joy Fernandes, FY BCA Div A. The student incharges were Prinson Fernandes, Sam Pinto and Lovely Ramchandani. 14 students participated in Mortal Kombat, 11 game. The winner of this Game was Aniket Korgaonkar, SY BCA Div A. The student In charges were Muheet Bhatt, Mark Fernandes and Lovely Ramchandani. 12 students participated in Gang Beasts game. The winner of this game was Veryl Fernandes, SY BCA Division A. The students In charge were Muheet Bhatt, Mark Fernandes and Lovely Ramchandani. The Faculty In charge of overall gaming competition was Mr. Andre Pacheco, Assistant Professor, CS Department.
Apart from these offline competitions, two online competitions were held namely, Video Editing and Blogging/Vlogging. 5 students participated in Video Editing. The judge for this competition was Ms. Sharwari Prabhudessai, Assistant Professor, CS Department. The first place was secured by Larissa Sequeira, SY BCA Div B and second place was secured by Atharva Naik, SY BCA Division A. The student in charges were Prithvi Shirodkar, Floyd Fernandes and Ayush Kale from SY BCA B. The Faculty incharge was Ms. Rajlaxmi S. Nair, Assistant Professor, CS Department.
Students had also put up a Pop-up bazaar. 6 stalls were set-up which include food, homemade items, T-shirts, Biscuits, artificial jewellery and games. The Faculty In charge for this was Ms. Nishigandha Naik Gaonkar, Assistant Professor, CS Department.
3 students participated in Blogging/Vlogging competition. The judge for this competition was Ms. Sharmila Kunde, Assistant Professor, Commerce Department. The winner of this competition was Darren Dias, SY BCA Div A. The student in charge for this competition was Vyas Vernekar, FY BCA Div A. The Faculty in charge for this competition was Ms. Rama Borkar, Assistant Professor, CS Department.
The Valedictory Function was held in presence of Dr. Edwin Barretto, Associate Professor, Commerce Department and Mr. Sumit Kumar, HOD of CS Department at 4.30 pm in the Smart Classroom. All the winners were rewarded. The overall function concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Sneha Prabhudessai, Tech-day In charge.
