Talk On Consumer Protection, Rights And Responsibilities

The Consumer Cell of the College in association with the Life Skills cell of the College Skill Development Centre conducted a session for students. Mr. Roland Martins, Coordinator GOACAN, was the Resource Person and the theme of the session was Consumer Protection, Rights and Responsibilities.

Mr. Roland Martins enlightened the students on the rights that consumers enjoy under the Consumer Protection Act 1986 viz. Right to Safety, Right to be Informed, Right to Choose, Right to be Heard, Right to seek Redressal and Right to Consumer Education. He requested students to file complaints with the Chairman of Consumer Conciliation Committee if they come across any wrong deeds i.e. if the products provided to the consumers are defective or if there is deficiency in the services provided to them. He mentioned that the Consumer Conciliation Committee will take action against such misconduct.
