The Department of Management organized activities for the students of the Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce, who visited the College on 11th March2023 in pursuance of the MoU between the colleges. Four students from Poona College Mr. Muzamil, Mr. Mohammed, Mr. Nirupam, Mr. Manoof were accompanied by Mrs. Deepika Abhijeet, Head of Department of Management and Assistant Professor Sonali Kamble. The visit was coordinated by Dr. Rodney D’Silva, Associate Professor in Commerce
The faculty members of the Department of Management extended a warm welcome to the students and faculty members of Poona College. Following the introductions, the students engaged in management games organized by the Department of Management such as Leader’s Power, Morse Code, and Treasure Hunt. Ms. Abigale Rodrigues, Assistant Professor in Commerce, was the teacher in charge. The students of both the colleges participated enthusiastically in all the games.
Post lunch a session on the topic “Influence of the Portuguese regime on Goa” was conducted by Mr. Sameer Kapadi, a faculty member of the Department of Management. During the session, Mr. Sameer demonstrated to the students the techniques to play the traditional Goan instrument called “Ghumat”. Later, he spoke about the cultural heritage of Goa, the unique cultural blend of India and Portugal, and touched upon the social, cultural, and economic impact of the Portuguese regime on Goa. The session ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Rodney D’Silva, Associate Professor in Commerce and Coordinator of the exchange program. The faculty and students of Poona College gave very positive feedback about the exchange program which they enjoyed immensely.
