The Computer Science Department (BCA) in collboration with Cultural Council of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics organised it’s annual one day State Level IT Quiz “IT-Quest Excellence 2017”on 20th December 2016 at two levels, Beginner level for the students of higher secondary schools and Advanced level for under graduate college students.
A total 9 teams participated at Advanced level and 5 teams at the Beginners level. For each level, a preliminary written test was conducted to select the top 4 teams for the final round. The final round of the IT Quiz was steered by the quiz master Mr. Samir Kapadi and assisted by the team members of mindbloggers (Technical Quiz Group of TechTrendz Club of the college).
At Beginners level, VidyaVikas Academy, Loyola Higher Secondary School, R.M.S Higher Secondary and Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary school competed with each other, where, Vidya Vikas Academy won the winners Rolling Trophy and Loyola Higher Secondary School was the Runner-up.
At Advanced level, MES College of Arts & Commerce won the Rolling Trophy and Don Bosco College was the runner-up. Other two colleges which qualified for the final round were DM’s College of Arts, Science, and Commerce, and Goa Multi faculty College.
The event concluded with the valedictory and prize distribution ceremony. The medals, Rolling Trophies and certificates were distributed to the teams at the hands of the Dr. (Mrs.) Prita D. Mallya (Principal), Ms. Mamta Kumari (Convenor, Cultural council), Mrs. Ekta Agarwal (Coordinator, BCA), Quiz Master Mr. Samir Kapadi and the Quiz Coordinator Mr. Sumit Kumar.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Miss Pranita Sawant, Student Coordinator, TechTrendz Club of the College.
