The Nature Club organized a star gazing night for NSS volunteers at Bhumiraj Hall,of Shree Shantadurga Kunkallikarin Temple, Fatorpa, Goa on 18th November 2015. Mr.Devendra Mr.Manas and Mr. Kabir from association of Friends of Astronomy-Goa, conducted the star gazing programme.
The programme comprised of two sessions. The first session was a presentation made by Mr.Devendra on “Why study Astronomy”. The session was interactive with students actively participating in the discussion. In the second session students were taken outdoors into the field where the telescope had been setup. Through the telescope, students could clearly see the Moon and several constellations in the sky.
The session was a unique and memorable experience not only for the students but also for the local villagers who were invited for the event.
