Shree Damodar Diwali Utsav

The Department of Management and Department of Economics & Banking of the College in association with the Directorate of Women and Child Development and Aamhi Udyogini Pratishthan, Margao organized “Shree Damodar Diwali Utsav” on 15th October 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Hall No.1 of the Central Block. This event aimed to provide a platform to Self Help Groups, children and teachers of special schools as well as the students of the College so as to encourage entrepreneurship among them. The event commenced with the ribbon cutting ceremony and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp to mark the inauguration of the Utsav. The compere Assistant Professor Stesa Pereira welcomed the participants and provided a brief about “Shree Damodar Diwali Utsav”. The Principal of the College expressed her gratitude to all the participants for their efforts in putting up a plethora of stalls and conveyed her wishes for a successful event.

The Chief Guest for the session, Ms. Deepali Naik, Director, Directorate of Women and Child Development then addressed the gathering. Ms. Deepali thanked all the participants for their collaboration and support. She appreciated the immense work and enthusiasm of the participants during these pop-up bazaars. Shree Damodar Diwali Utsav was then declared open to all. A variety of stalls were put up by participating groups including Shining Star Self Help Group, Shree Jai Ganesha Self Help Group, Umang Self Help Group, Amhi Udhyogini Pratishthan Margao, Sanjay Centre for Special Education, Parshuram Self Help Group, Gujarati Samaj Education Trusts’ Special School and other independent groups. The event garnered a total of 35 participants who put up stalls comprising an array of items including eatables, soaps, jewelry, eco-friendly products, purses, clothing and decoration, all centered around the theme of Diwali. There was a positive response from visitors, who thoroughly enjoyed shopping at this unique event.
