The Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Department of Commerce and Department of Management Studies of the College in association with Mahila Mandal Madgaon organized “Shree Damodar Chavath Bazaar” on 12th September 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Hall No.1, 5th Floor of the Central Block. The event, as part of an outreach programme, aimed to provide a platform to Self Help Groups as well as the students of the College so as to encourage entrepreneurship among them. A total of 41 stalls were put up comprising of 34 stalls by SHGs and 7 stalls by students.
The compere Ms. Dhriti Bene of FY B.Com B welcomed the participants and visitors to “Shree Damodar Chavath Bazaar”. As part of the inaugural, the event commenced with the ribbon cutting followed by the lighting of the lamp, with the Ghumat Aarti playing in the background. Mrs. Kunda Panandikar, Former President of Mahila Mandal was the Chief Guest for the day. Mrs. Panandikar addressed the gathering and appreciated the immense enthusiasm seen in all the participants in setting up a plethora of stalls.
The Principal Dr Prita D. Mallya expressed her gratitude to all the participants for putting up a wide range of stalls and conveyed her wishes for a successful event. A variety of stalls displaying an array of items including eatables and delicious sweets, jewellery, plant-based perfumes, embroidery, organic products, clothing and decoration were offered for sale. The event was open to the general public as well as the staff and students of VVM Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, who enjoyed shopping for varieties at the event.
The teachers in charge of the event were Dr. Lina Sadekar, IQAC Coordinator, Dr Shami Pai, Faculty In-charge and Ms. Snehal Alve, HoD Management Studies. The event was a great success.
