“Shaping Young Minds Programme”

A Webinar on the topic “Shaping Young Minds Programme” was organized by the All-India Management Association (AIMA) in collaboration with Goa Management Association on 26th August 2022, at 9.15 am on YouTube. The session was chaired by Shiv Siddhant Narayan Kaul MD, Nicco Engineering Services Limited and Honorary Consul General of The Republic of Korea in Kolkata, Pranjal Sharma Author, Economic Analyst & Columnist, Shrinivas Dempo Chairman, Dempo Group of Companies & Senior Vice President All India Management Association, Nikhil Sawhney Vice Chairman and Managing Director Triveni Turbine Limited, Director, Triveni Engineering and Industries Limited & Vice President, AIMA invited speaker were Dr K Radhakrishnan Former Chairman, Space Commission/ Secretary Department of Space & Chairman, ISRO, Mr D Shivakumar Group Executive President Strategy and Business Development Aditya Birla Group & Past President, AIMA, Ms Shereen Bhan Managing Editor CNBC-TV18, Mr Sanjiv Mehta CEO and Managing Director Hindustan Unilever Limited.

The SYMP was divided into four sessions and the first session began at 9.35 am with Dr K Radhakrishnan as the speaker and Shiv Siddhant Narayan Kaul as the session chair. The purpose of SYMP was to help young students see the world from the eyes of high achievers so that they also aspire and work towards making a big impact in the world. It was a very interactive programme where speakers were asked their views on work, career and life and also their advice on acquiring the necessary habits and attitude to become high achievers.

Dr. K. Radhakrishnan enlightened the participants by speaking about his career and space & technology and encouraged them by highlighting the opportunities available to young engineers and scientists to get into new areas of space. He encouraged young minds to continue a lifelong career in science and technology as there is ample scope for young scientists and stressed various areas where students can get into and how they can go ahead in science and technology by sharing his experience. The first session ended by thanking Dr K Radhakrishnan for motivating young minds and Shiv Siddhant Narayan Kaul for moderating the session.

The second session of SYMP started at 10.25 am with Mr D Shivakumar as the speaker and Mr Pranjal Sharma as the session chair. The session was very interesting as Shivakumar shared his life journey and told participants that we do not have control over where we started but we have control of where we will end. He motivated youngsters to look forward as the world is full of opportunities. He told participants to believe in themselves and stay on time and do only those activities which add value to their life. Mr D Shivakumar shared his daily motivation mantra with the participants. He told participants how to balance everything in life. The second session ended at 10.15 am.

Mr. Shrinivas Dempo moderated the third session with Ms. Shereen Bhan Managing Editor CNBC-TV18. The speaker Ms. Shereen Bhan, shared her life journey and told participants to find their purpose and passion. She motivated the youngsters by explaining to them the role of a leader, which is not just to come up with good ideas but to create an environment where they can bring out the best and leaders need to lead by example.

The fourth session of SYMP started at 12.15 with Mr Sanjiv Mehta as a speaker and Mr Nikhil Sawhney as the session chair. Ms Swati introduced Nikhil Sawhney and Mr Nikhil introduced the speaker for the fourth session. Mr Sanjiv Mehta shared the roadmap that he had taken which might help the youngsters to chant their roadmap to reach their destination. He highlighted the importance of passion as one can excel only in things where one got an immense love for and enjoy whatever they do and also told them how to deal with failures.

It was a very interactive programme where the speakers talked about their lives, their successes and more importantly – their failures. They shared their stories and anecdotes from life which will help young people to synchronise personal and career goals through exposure to the experience and wisdom of successful people. Students got an opportunity to interact with achievers whom they would not have otherwise got an opportunity to interact with. The programme ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Swati. 30 students of FY BBA from the Department of Management attended the session.
