Session on “Thematic Mutual Funds – A Targeted Investment Approach”

On 11th January 2025, The Department of Management Studies, BBA(FS) Program, in association with the Alumni Engagement Cell organized as session titled “Thematic Mutual Funds – A Targeted Investment Approach”, as part of the ALMA Master Series. The session conducted in Classroom No. S-201 between 11.30 AM to 12:30 PM, provided an in-depth exploration of thematic mutual funds, a niche yet promising investment avenue.

Mr. Chirag Majithia, founder of Shreeji Financial Investments, began by introducing the fundamental concepts of financial markets, setting a strong foundation for students to understand the dynamics of investment. He then elaborated on thematic mutual funds, distinguishing them from traditional funds and highlighting sector-specific investment opportunities in areas such as technology, healthcare, and green energy.

Additionally, Mr. Majithia explained the regulatory role of SEBI, the benefits of mutual funds such as risk diversification and accessibility, and the power of SIPs (Systematic Investment Plans) in wealth creation. The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions and posing insightful questions, which were addressed with clarity and practical insights. The event was attended by 72 participants (38 males, 34 female) from the BBA(FS) programme.

Expected Outcome of the Activity

The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of thematic mutual funds and their role in targeted investment strategies. By the end of the session, participants had gained practical knowledge to align their investments with market trends and personal financial goals. The event successfully inspired students to explore innovative investment options and fostered confidence in making informed financial decisions.
