The Department of Commerce and Management of the College, organized a session on “How to start and manage business effectively” for SY B.Com Entrepreneurship Development students on 10th October 2023 from 9:00am to 10:00am. The Resource Person for the session was Mr. Pravin Kakode, who is an alumnus of our college and currently holds the positions of Executive Director at Upgrade Enterprises Pvt Ltd and Managing Partner at Kakode Trading LLP. The objective of this session was to provide the students with valuable insights and guidance in the area of entrepreneurship.
Dr. Rodney D’Silva presented a potted plant to the esteemed Resource Person. Ms. Disha Goni, a SY B.Com student, introduced Mr. Kakode. The session commenced with Mr. Kakode engaging the students by questioning them about entrepreneurship. The topics covered included defining an entrepreneur, methods for identifying business opportunities, and strategies for market segmentation. Mr. Kakode encouraged the students to actively participate by asking questions and even offered rewards to the student who contributed the most. Additionally, Mr. Kakode delved into the concept of IKIGAI with the students, encouraging them to identify IKIGAI in their lives as a pathway to happiness. Following the insightful session, Ms. Safaa Sayyed, also a SY B.Com student, proposed the Vote of Thanks. The session was coordinated by Ms. Marjina Shaikh, Assistant Professor in Commerce. 41 students from SY B.Com actively participated and gained valuable insights during this engaging event.
