Session on Financial Planning

The FY Certificate Course Committee of the College in association with the Bombay Stock Exchange Brokers Forum organized an online session on the topic “Financial Planning” as a part of certificate course in 21st Century Life Skills for the First Year B.Com, BBA and BBA(Financial Services) students on 12th September 2022 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm through online mode. The objective of the session was to create awareness about the importance of saving and investing.  The Resource Person for the session was Mr. Kaushal Mishra, Full time faculty at DHP Financial Training Services Mumbai. A total of 119 students of First year attended the session.

The session began with a welcome address by Asst. Prof Marjina Shaikh, Convenor of the FY Certificate Course Committee, followed by introduction of the Resource Person by Ms. Unnati Sarmalkar a student from FY B.Com. Mr. Kaushal started the session by introducing the Bombay Stock Exchange Brokers Forum. He then covered various concepts related to financial planning such as the process of financial planning, the various investment options available for financial planning and the decision process relating to investing decisions in each of the investment options. The power of compounding concept was illustrated with the help of an example and the students were urged to begin investing through SIP as soon as possible. Towards the end he discussed about the grievance redressal mechanism of BSE and the mode of application for the same.

The session ended at 4:30 p.m. with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Hareesh Shankeen, a student from FY B.Com. Mr. Kunal Velip, a student from FY B.Com was the compere for the session
