The NSS unit of our college, in collaboration with the Forest Department of Aquem Margao, organized a sapling distribution program under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign on 14th August 2024 at the college main entrance from 12:30 pm onwards. The initiative aimed to instill a sense of environmental responsibility among a total of 99 participating students by encouraging them to plant and nurture trees.

The program saw active participation from the officiating Principal, Prof. Sanjay P. Sawant Dessai, Vice Principal Dr. Edwin Barreto (Academics), Vice Principal Dr. Shami Pai (Administration), and IQAC Coordinator, Dr. Lina Sadekar personally distributing the saplings to the students. A total of 100 saplings were distributed during the program, which included a diverse variety of plants such as Guava, Lime, Custard Apple, Amla, Indian Blackberry, Tamarind, and several medicinal plants. These species were carefully selected for their ecological significance, as well as their nutritional and medicinal value, making them ideal for plantation in the local environment.
