Republic Day Camp

The Directorate General National Cadet Corps (DGNCC) successfully organized the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2025 in New Delhi from 29th December 2024 to 30th January 2025. This prestigious camp aimed to instill patriotism, discipline, and leadership among NCC cadets while providing a platform for training, cultural activities, and competitions. RDC culminated in the Republic Day Parade, where cadets showcased their skills through drills, cultural performances, and social service initiatives, promoting national unity and pride.

Leading Cadet (LC) Tuhin Saha, from our institution’s NCC Naval Wing, was the sole representative from 1 Goa Naval Unit NCC (Senior Category) at the Republic Day Camp in Delhi, which lasted for 32 days. The camp, held at DG NCC, Delhi Cantt, saw participation from 17 different directorates, where cadets underwent rigorous training under drill instructors to prepare for their grand performance on Kartavya Path on 26th January 2025.

Training sessions took place at Cariappa Parade Ground and Kartavya Path, fostering discipline and camaraderie among cadets. LC Tuhin Saha had the honor of marching in the Republic Day Parade 2025 on Kartavya Path, a key highlight of India’s Republic Day celebrations. The parade showcased India’s military strength and cultural diversity, commencing with the President’s flag-unfurling ceremony, featuring marching contingents from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, state tableaux, a spectacular fly-past, and the grand Beating Retreat ceremony.

As part of RDC, cadets interacted with Army, Navy, and Air Force officers, gaining insights into various regiments and career opportunities within the Indian defense forces. The NCC girls’ contingent, consisting of 148 Senior Wing (SW) cadets, was followed by the Scindia Boys Band and Pilani Girls Band, while the NCC boys’ contingent, comprising 148 Senior Division (SD) cadets, marched thereafter.

On 15th January 2025, cadets embarked on a ‘Delhi Darshan’ tour, visiting iconic landmarks like Qutub Minar, India Gate, and the Pradhanmantri Sanghralay, enriching their cultural and historical knowledge, and governance.

Representing the Karnataka and Goa Directorate, LC Tuhin Saha played a key role in securing 1st place in the PM Rally 2025, earning the PM Banner. This outstanding achievement was the result of collective efforts by cadets who participated in various NCC camps throughout the year. The camp concluded with a grand closing address, marking the end of a memorable journey.

Upon returning to Bangalore, the victorious Karnataka and Goa Directorate received a heroic welcome at KSR Railway Station. Cadets toured Bangalore city, celebrating their success and chanting ‘KARGOS’ in unity. In recognition of their success, cadets were awarded the DDG Commendation and presented with the Memento of Champions.

The cadets were also invited to the Raj Bhavan by Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot, the Governor of Karnataka, for a felicitation ceremony.
