As a part of Bhartiya Bhasha Diwas celebrations, the Cultural Council in association with EBSB Club organised ‘Rasoi Utsav’ on 7th December, 2023 to celebrate the diversity in culture, arts, etc., and to make students experience the unity, harmony, and integrity of the nation. The programme commenced with the Principal and Vice Principal welcoming the judges, Mrs Sharmila Kamat, and Mrs Shraddha Lad, our Alumni and successful entrepreneurs. The Principal addressed the participants, spoke about the food culture of India and praised them for taking up the challenge of presenting the traditional dishes of different states. Students from all programmes participated in the competition.

Around 12 dishes from different states were displayed by the students who participated in pairs as well as individually. The students had prepared a variety of traditional dishes from across India and presented their platters.

Kanika and Abigayle presented a Goan dish ‘Dudhanche fov’; Unnati and Sarva presented a dish from Uttarakhand ‘Aloo Dal Pakora’; Nivita and Taniya presented a Gujarati dish of ‘Dhokla, Handiyo, and Thepla’; Bhakti Mirashi presented a combined dish of Jharkhand and Bengal that is ‘Madua Roti, and Rasogulla Thali’; Gudiya Bhati and Komal Botekar presented the Jharkhand dish of  ‘Duska and AlooBhaji, and Kakara Petha’; Sai and Rahul prepared a dish from Andhra Pradesh namely ‘Pulihora’ (Tamarind Rice); Tejas presented a dish called ‘Duska & Aloo Chana sabzi’; a Goan dish of ‘Dum Biryani’ was presented by Sameer and Shallen, Vasvi and Purva prepared dishes from Maharashtra known as ‘Sabudana vada & Puranpoli’; Karina and Naziya presented a Bihari Dish of ‘Litti Chokha’; ‘Chole Puri’ a dish from Uttar Pradesh was prepared by Esha and Nidhi, and Shruti Paikhot presented a Goan dish known as ‘Dudhacho Faral’.

The winners of the Rasoi Utsav were Gudiya Bhati and Komal Botekar, the 2nd place was bagged by Bhakti Mirashi, and the third place went to Shruti Paikhot. The Rasoi Utsav ended at noon.

Assistant Professors Dr Monica Patil and Ms Rama Borkar were the Coordinators of the programme and Ruby Mahato, Raghav Muroor, and Valenie Fernandes were the student coordinators.
