Rakshabandhan with Soldiers

The EBSB Club in collaboration with the Cultural Council & Alumni Engagement Cell organized “Rakshabandhan with Soldiers” campaign for the students of the College & Alumni on 14th August, 2023. Dr. Sheetal Arondekar, Convenor of the Cultural Council, Mr. Sandesh Gaonkar, Convenor of the EBSB Club, Mr. Ainsley Bernard, Convenor of the Alumni Engagement Cell were the coordinators. A total of 63 Rakhis crafted by students were sent to the Indian Army Soldiers: C/O 99 APO through Samskruti Foundation.

The initiative involved crafting handmade cloth rakhis by students as a gesture of appreciation and support for the brave Soldiers who tirelessly safeguard our Nation’s borders. The students used a variety of colorful cloth materials, beads, and threads to craft the rakhis. Each rakhi was carefully handmade, showcasing the students’ creativity and thoughtfulness. The process of creating these rakhis was not just an artistic endeavor but also a chance for students to reflect on the sacrifices made by soldiers to ensure our safety and freedom.

The event aimed to strengthen the bond between civilians and soldiers, especially during the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a festival that symbolizes the protection and care between siblings. This event provided an opportunity for the students to convey their heartfelt sentiments and tie rakhis to the soldiers as a symbolic gesture of protection and solidarity.
