Pune Study Tour

The Department of Management Studies organized a study tour for BBA (Financial Services) students on 13th and 14th January 2025 in Pune. A total of 13 students (12 males, 1 female) from BBA(FS) were accompanied by two faculty members, Asst. Prof. Ashwini Dewari and Asst. Prof. Sarth Shanbhag. The two-day tour combined academic exposure with practical industry insights through visits to premier educational institutions and a banking operations centre.

On 13th January, the students visited the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance, and FLAME University. Guided campus tours showcased modern facilities, including libraries and research centres. Faculty from the host institutions along with industry experts, conducted insightful sessions on career opportunities in finance, covering roles in investment banking, wealth management, and risk management.

On 14th January, the group visited HDFC Bank’s Wholesale Banking Operations in Pune, where they gained hands-on knowledge about wholesale banking processes. An informative presentation explained the concept of wholesale banking operations in which the bank plays a vital role in facilitating large-scale transactions for corporate clients.  Students also learned about the issuance and operational aspects of bank guarantees and letters of credit.

Expected Outcome of the Activity

The study tour aimed to expose students to prestigious academic institutions and provide practical insights into wholesale banking operations, enhancing their understanding of career opportunities within the financial services industry.
