The BBA(Financial Services) Department organized a guest lecture titled “Financial Technologies: Evolving Paradigm of E-Commerce’ for Final Year students of the BBA(FS) programme. The guest lecture was organized virtually through Google Meet Platform on 15th October, 2020 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. 21 students and 3 faculty members of the Department attended the same.
Mr. Tyrone D’Souza, the co-founder of Mobobeat was the Resource Person for the guest lecture. Mobobeat is a mobile ad network that has been in business for the last 5 years with offices in India, Spain and Colombia. He elaborated on the evolution of FinTech, which has been instrumental in transforming e-commerce businesses globally. He highlighted aspects of FinTech such as Zerodha and algotrading, small case investments, Artificial Intelligence in investment decisions, freelance online careers in finance, bitcoin currency, alt coins, USD Teether, bank transfers vs bitcoin etc. He provided several examples to make the content more effective and enriching.
Mr. Tyrone addressed all the queries raised by the students. Students provided a very positive feedback about the guest lecture. Asst. Prof. Mayuresh Adsul compered the session, which was organized by Asst. Prof. Cinola Vaz and Asst. Prof. Mayuresh Adsul.
