As part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Vidya Vikas Mandal, the VVM Sports Governing Council organized its First National Webinar on “Challenges Far & Beyond Sports” from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on 30th March 2021. The webinar was conducted on the Google Meet platform and there was also live streaming on YouTube.
The Resource Persons for the webinar and their topics were:
- Swapnil Asnodkar (IPL Cricketer): A Cricketing Journey at 10:15 am
- Anurag Mhamal (Chess Grand Master): Career as a Sportsman – Role of Parents at 11:10 am
- Thomas Dennerby (World-cup U-17 Girls Indian Football Team Coach): Diet Essentials for a Growing Athlete Timing at 11:55 am
- M. Prabhudesai (Executive Director at SAG): Promoting Sports Culture in Goa at 12:40 pm
The webinar received good response with 172 registrations. The meeting was hosted by Mr. Saurabh Raikar and the IT-related work was handled by Ms. Pradnya Nadkarni. The webinar started at 10:00 a.m. with a welcome speech by President of VVM, Mr. Nitin Kunkolienker.
Session 1: Mr. Ajinkya Kudtarkar College Director of Physical Education and Sports, Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics introduced Mr. Swapnil Asnodkar and Ms. Girijadevi Physical Education teacher at RMS HSS delivered the vote of thanks.
Session 2: Mr. Durgesh Prabhu Gaonkar Physical Education teacher at RMS HSS introduced Mr. Anurag Mhamal and Mr. Ashutosh Chari Physical Education teacher, Vidya Vikas Academy, delivered the vote of thanks
Session 3: Mr. Manoj Hede College Director of Physical Education and Sports, G.R Kare College of Law introduced Mr. Thomas Dennerby and Ms. Balika Phaldessai, Physical Education teacher at Vidya Vikas Academy delivered the vote of thanks.
Session 4: Mr. Sidharth Faldessai Sports Director at Vidya Vikas Academy introduced Mr. V. M. Prabhudesai and Mr. Saurabh Raikar, Instuctor in Physical Education at SDCCE delivered the vote of thanks.
Ms. Lizia Gomes, Asst. Professor in Commerce, SDCCE, compered the programme. The Q&A session was handled by Ms. Farheen Khan French teacher at Vidya Vikas Academy.
The purpose behind organizing the webinar was to highlight the importance of sports and to promote sports culture during the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants appreciated the webinar, and requested that more such webinars be conducted.
