Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Goa State Biodiversity Board (GSBB)

Shree Damodar College undertakes a wide range of extension and outreach activities, with the intention of making students socially conscious, compassionate and responsible citizens of the country. The NSS Units and the Green Club – Vasundhara – are actively involved in environment-related activities throughout the year.

Goa State Biodiversity Board (GSBB) is an autonomous body of the Government of Goa under the Department of Science, Technology and Environment, constituted by the State Government as per the provision of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002.

As per the terms of the MoU, Shree Damodar College will assist GSBB in achieving its goals and objectives of making people aware of the biodiversity and its importance for human wellbeing, fostering a sense of environmental responsibility and promoting active participation in conservation efforts. In order to fulfill the above goals and objectives, Shree Damodar College will conduct training programmes, seminars, awareness drives, and such other activities, celebrate Environment-related days and conduct awareness programs collaboratively with GSBB, for students as well as the general public. The College will also assist GSBB in maintaining the People’s Biodiversity Registers (PBR).

The MoU was signed by Principal Prof. Prita D. Mallya and Shri Pradip Sarmokadam, Member Secretary, GSBB, in the presence of Asst. Professor Mr. Gajanan Haldankar and Ms. Urvee Kanekar, Legal Assistant, GSBB.
