Master of Commerce (M.Com)

The M. Com programme was introduced in the College in 2006 when Goa University first permitted affiliated colleges to start the M. Com programme. The Postgraduate Department has been performing very well, with students bagging University ranks. The programme is an 80-credit programme, currently governed by Goa University Ordinance OA-35. At the College, students are offered the opportunity to choose between two specializations: Business Management and Accounting & Finance, enabling them to shape their academic journey according to their career interests.

To foster research acumen, the Department places strong emphasis on dissertation work and research workshops, providing students with valuable insights into practical problem-solving and analytical skills.

Moreover, the M. Com programme opens doors to teaching careers, preparing students to excel as educators in the field of Commerce. To enhance students’ academic journey, the programme organizes NET/SET classes, aiding those aspiring at further progression and research.

Beyond the classroom, students have access to field trips, guest lectures and seminars to enhance industry interaction. These initiatives expose students to real-world scenarios and insights from experienced professionals, thereby bridging the gap between theory and practice.

The Postgraduate Department’s dedicated focus on placements ensures that students are well-prepared for the job market, making them highly employable in various sectors of commerce and finance. Overall, the M. Com programme at VVM’s Shree Damodar College offers a well-rounded education, shaping competent professionals for the dynamic business world.
