Market ka Eklavya

The Commerce Club of the Dept. of Commerce & Management in association with NSDL organized the short term Certificate Course ‘Market ka Eklavya – Basics of Investment’ for the students of B.Com, BBA(FS) and BCA. The session was conducted through online mode on the Zoom platform on 12th October 2022 from 2.00 to 5.00 pm. 89 students participated in the session.

The Resource Person for the session was Mr. Milind Gaikwad. He began the session by discussing about the basic types of income i.e. active income and passive income, inflation and its impact and the basic types of investment. The basic parameters to choose an investment are return, risk, liquidity and tax. He then explained the importance of starting investment early and the power of compounding. As an investor one should understand the need to spread the investment into various avenues and also the need to remain invested for a long period of time.

Various concepts of the Primary market and Secondary market were then explained. The need for a DEMAT account and other functional concepts of the stock market were clearly discussed, such as the market timing and days, investing v/s trading, technical analysis v/s fundamental analysis, quantitative analysis.

The Resource Person conducted the entire session interactively through annotations, and relevant anecdotes. The students were awarded certificates from NSDL for their participation.
