Management Meeting with Staff Members

Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics entered its Golden Jubilee Year on June 17, 2022 from 9:30 to10:30 am in Hall No. 2, 5th Floor, Central Block. 68 academic staff, 15 non-teaching staff and 16 support staff attended the same.

To mark the occasion, the President, Hon. Secretary and Hon. Treasurer of Vidya Vikas Mandal, met and interacted with the teaching, non-teaching and support staff of the College.

Principal Prof. Prita D. Mallya welcomed the Office bearers of Vidya Vikas Mandal and all the staff of the College. In her welcome address, she mentioned that on this historic occasion, we are blessed to have in our midst CA Uttam N. Bene, a founder member of Vidya Vikas Mandal, whose tireless efforts during the early years resulted in the establishment of the College and its success in subsequent years. We are also fortunate to have an ex-student – Mr. Nitin Kunkolienker – leading the College into its 50th year.

Speaking on the occasion, President Mr. Nitin Kunkolienker greeted all the staff on the occasion of the commencement of the Golden Jubilee year of the College. He encouraged the faculty members to be aware of developments in the real world and prepare students for careers in new and emerging areas. He suggested that faculty members form small working groups to study specific areas and prepare content for short, related courses, which could be then be offered to students. He exhorted all staff members to dedicate themselves and work sincerely for the benefit of students and the community.

Reiterating the President’s message, Mr. Madhukar Mallya further emphasized that technology is changing the world and the way the world does business. It is imperative that teachers keep pace with changing developments and prepare students with the requisite skill sets, so that they are ready to take up challenging careers and also to deal with changes in their careers.

U. N. Bene, Hon. Treasurer, Vidya Vikas Mandal, and Chairman of the College Governing Council, then launched the 50-year logo of the College. The Department of Computer Science conducted an in-house competition for students from all streams. The winning logo was designed by Mr. Rakesh Pujari, a Second Year student of the B.Voc.(Software Technologies) pro­gramme. CA. U. N. Bene also released the newly designed letterhead of the College incorporating the 50-year logo.

The session concluded with faculty members Dr. Sheetal Arondekar, Ms. Swati Bhat, Ms. Ashwini Devari and Ms. Rama Borkar, reciting the Saraswati Vandana and seeking divine blessings for the College in the days and years to come.
