‘Macro Marvels’- The Art of Macro Photography

In celebration of World Photography Day on 19th August and World Photography Week (12th to 26th August), the TechTrendz Club of the Department of Computer Science organized an Online Photography competition titled “Macro Marvels – The Art of Macro Photography.” The event held 22nd to 28th August, 2024, aimed to showcase and evaluate the macro photography skills of students from BCA and B.Voc.(ST) programmes. Participants were required to submit their macro photographs, which were evaluated on creativity, composition, storytelling, and technical skills.

The competition attracted 15 (12 male, 3 female) talented participants. The event was judged by Mr. Sandesh Gaundalker, visiting faculty in the Computer Science Department, who evaluated the entries based on the established criteria.

The competition concluded with the following results:

  • 1st Place: Shubh Borkar (TYBCA, Div A)
  • 2nd Place: Neeraj Aroskar (TYBCA, Div B)
  • 3rd Place: Raj Pagi (SYBCA, Div B)

The event was organized by Ms. Shaina Kamat, Ms. Aarti Solanki, and Mr. Yogesh Yadav, students from SY B.Voc.(ST), under the guidance of faculty in-charges, Ms. Girija Gaonkar and Ms. Deepti Kulkarni, Assistant Professors from the Department of Computer Science. Asst. Prof. Annette Santimano, TechTrendz Club in-charge, played a crucial role in the smooth execution of the event.

The “Macro Marvels” competition successfully highlighted the impressive macro photography skills of the participants and aligned with the global celebrations of photography. The meticulous planning and execution by the organizing team contributed to a seamless and engaging event.

Expected Outcome of the Activity:

The “Macro Marvels – The Art of Macro Photography” competition aimed to enhance participants’ macro photography skills, foster creative expression, and provide a platform for recognizing talent. Additionally, it promoted community engagement and aligned with global photography celebrations, thereby boosting the visibility and educational impact of the TechTrendz Club.
