The Department of Management Studies organized a Library Orientation session for the newly admitted students of FY BBA(FS) and BBA on 5th& 7th July 2023 respectively. A total of 16 BBA students and 41 BBA(FS) students attended the orientation. The programme aimed to orient the students about the different library services and e- resources offered at the institution.
Mrs. Preeta Gunagi, the College Librarian, provided a comprehensive briefing to the students about the various sections of the Library. She enthusiastically shared details about the extensive collection of resources available, which included an impressive array of books, periodicals, magazines, and newspapers that the library had subscribed to. Additionally, the Librarian familiarized the students with the vast array of e-resources accessible through the library. The students were also made aware of the numerous library services and facilities offered.
Mrs. Preeta Gunagi clarified the borrowing rights for books, highlighting the process of borrowing and renewing books, as well as the applicable overdue charges. The students were also introduced to various modern tools and services. The use of OPAC was explained, enabling students to efficiently locate and access the resources they needed. Moreover, the Librarian showcased the ICT-enabled library services, enlightening the students about the use of QR codes to avail library services effortlessly. In addition to academic resources, the students were informed about the availability of sample question papers, Career Zone, Syllabus, Subject Gateways, Institutional Repository, Knowledge portal, and Vigyankosh. These resources were intended to support the students’ academic endeavors and offer them a diverse range of study materials.
Overall, the session provided the students with a comprehensive understanding of the vast resources and services offered by the College Library.
