The Directorate of Higher Education, Goa, in association with the IQAC of Goa University, organized a 5-day workshop for College Librarians in Goa from 2nd to 6th March, 2020 at Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji –Goa.
Twelve technical sessions were conducted namely:
- Professional Development opportunities for College Librarians, HR Issues (Staff formula)
- Digital and Information Literacy Services in College Libraries,
- Career Information Resources in College Libraries
- Networking: purpose and benefits,
- E-resources Management: legal issues, usage and promotion in colleges.
- A modern approach to Library spaces in Colleges, Getting ready for NAAC; inputs from Librarians,
- Plagiarism and copyrights,
- Two group discussions – College Websites and Best Practices for College Libraries – were also conducted.
25 delegates attended the Workshop. The broad aim of the Program was to enhance the technological skills and expertise of the Librarians.
It was a highly informative and educative workshop. Eminent national level Resource Persons were invited to share their subject expertise in the field of Library and Information Science. Participants were updated on Library Automation. They also stressed upon the current Library Integrated softwares, which are being used by College Libraries.
