The FY Certificate Course Committee organized a session on “Leadership” as a part of the Certificate Course in 21st century Life Skills for the students of FY BBA(FS), FY B.Com, and FY BBA on 29th March 2023 from 4:40 pm to 5:35 pm in the F 402 Classroom, 4th Floor. The Resource Person for the session was Mr. Sujay Rao, Entrepreneur, Motivational Trainer. The objective of having a session on leadership for the students is to help them develop important skills and qualities that are necessary for success in various aspects of life, including academics, career, and personal relationships. A total of 23 students attended the program.
The training session commenced by exploring the fundamental concept of leadership, its significance, and how it impacts the success of an organization. The trainer elaborated that leadership entails inspiring and guiding others towards a shared goal, and the ability to motivate and empower individuals to perform their best. The various leadership styles were discussed, including democratic, autocratic, and laissez-faire, and how they impact team productivity and morale. In addition, the resource person highlighted the key leadership qualities, which included reliability, responsiveness, competence, and accessibility. The speaker also emphasized the importance of having a clear vision as a leader, and how it can inspire and guide a team towards success.
The session also included practical exercises and group activities. The students were divided into groups and given tasks, which required them to work collaboratively and use their leadership skills. The trainer provided feedback and guidance during these activities, and the students were encouraged to share their experiences and learn from each other. The students found the session very informative and enlightening. The session ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Mahek Shaikh, a student of FY BBA(FS)-A. Asst. Prof. Vinaya Kirloskar was the teacher in charge of the same.
