The NCC Army Wing in collaboration with Indian Coastal Guard organised cleaning drive on occasion of International Coastal Clean-up Day on 17th September, 2022. Altogether 40 Cadets participated in this drive enthusiastically. Two groups of 20 cadets each were delegated to Colva and Baina beach respectively. Cleaning drive began after the welcome address by WRD Minister of Goa Shri Subhash Shirodkar.
International Coastal Clean–up Daywas founded by Linda Maraniss and Kathy O’Hara, in order to bring attention towards pollution in Oceans. Every year on third Saturday of September International Coastal Clean-up Day is celebrated.
With the motto of Safer Life….Safer Coasts….Safer Seas….an initiative has been taken by the Indian Coast Guard to clean the Indian Coastline of 7516 KM.
