International Coastal Clean-up Day was established by Linda Maraniss and Kathy O’Hara with the aim of raising awareness about the growing problem of ocean pollution. It is celebrated every year on the third Saturday of September. In alignment with this initiative and under the motto “Safer Life….Safer Coasts….Safer Seas,” the Indian Coast Guard has undertaken the responsibility of cleaning the Indian coastline, which spans a vast 7516 kilometers.
The cleaning drive at Utorda Beach concluded at 10:30 AM. Mr. Sandesh Gaonkar was the coordinator of the event.
