The Department of Physical Education and Sports organized a Handball Intramural Tournament for Men and Women on December 9th and 11th, 2023, at Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim, Goa, starting at 9:00 am. 11 teams participated in the tournament, comprising 7 men’s teams and 4 women’s teams.
The tournament commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. Dewaraj Hirekurbar, the College Director of Physical Education and Sports. Following the welcome, Mr. Saurabh Raikar, Instructor in Physical Education, provided the participating teams with a comprehensive briefing on the tournament rules and regulations.
The competition followed a knock-out format, and fixtures were designed through a draw. Each match had a duration of 20 minutes, both for the Men’s and Women’s categories. The tournament not only provided a platform for intense competition but also fostered a spirit of sportsmanship among the participants. The Result of the Handball tournament are:

The Chief Guest for the tournament was Ms. Jane D’Silva, SAG Handball Coach, and the officials for the event were Ms. Jabiullah Bankapur and Ms. Lester Costa, both National Handball Players. Ms. Jane D’Silva delivered a brief speech highlighting the significance of organizing handball intramural tournaments and motivated the students for actively participating in such events. Mr. Dewaraj Hirekurbar, the College Director of Physical Education & Sports, provided a report summarizing the Handball Intramural event.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Siddhivinayak Hadapad, General Secretary of the Sports Council of the College.
