The Department of Computer Science organized an Industry and Alumni interaction session on 07th October 2021 for Third Year BCA students from11.00 am to 01.00 pm viaGoogle Meet. The Resource Person of the session was CEO of haztech – Goa, Mr. Mohsin Shaikh and BCA alumna Ms. Sadiya Xec, System Analyst & UI/UX Designer, haztech. The session started with the introduction of the Speaker by HOD and Project Coordinator Mr. Sumit Kumar.
The Resource Person, Mr. Mohsin Shaikh welcomed the students and asked them about their future plan. Through presentation and interactive discussion he explained them the need and importance of skills, innovation and creativity and how one can use skill, knowledge to innovate the social solution in a creative way. He asked them to identify the societal problem around them and try solving it through the third year project.
He also elaborated upon various knowledge sets that any one should acquire in order to become successful in various IT job roles viz. Software Developer, Graphics Designer, Digital Marketing Professional, Content Writer, etc. He stressed upon the importance of projects, live projects, assignments, internships, communication skills, self-learning and creative thinking.
The alumna Ms. Sadiya Xec informed the students about the various job roles and progressions available in the field of UI & UX. She also shared various skills needed for these job roles in order to become successful in the IT-ITeS Industry.
Mr. Mohsin mentioned as how he is going to mentor them for the projects and what is expected from them during the duration of project completion. All doubts and concerns raised by the students were clarified along with its implications. He concluded the interaction on positive note and mentioned that there is no alternative to creative thinking, passion to learn and keeping up to date in technological skill. 28 TY BCA Students attended the sessions.
