‘Industry 4.0 & Digital Marketing: Demystifying the Contemporary Panorama’

The Department of Management of the College organized a seminar on ‘Industry 4.0 & Digital Marketing: Demystifying the Contemporary Panorama’ on Thursday, 20th October 2022 from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Ms. Ekta Agarwal, CEO and Founder, S. S. Technologies, Margao was the Resource Person for the seminar. 77 TY BBA(FS) students attended the same.

The seminar was compered by Ms. Sanchia Patricia Da Costa, student of TY BBA(FS)-B. She commenced the seminar with a brief introductory note on the rationale of organizing a seminar on digital marketing.  Ms. Sanchia mentioned that the role of digital marketing is paramount in creating vibrant businesses and digital marketing has tremendously augmented the efficacy of Industry 4.0, especially during the present times. The gathering was welcomed by Vice-Principal Dr. Edwin Barreto. Mr. Saeesh Naik, student of TY BBA(FS)-B introduced the Resource Person. Ms. Agarwal is a reputed technopreneur in Margao, known for her technology venture, S. S. Technologies, Margao. S. S. Technologies is a software development company helping organizations achieve their digital goals by aligning business objectives to digital initiatives through innovative IT solutions. Ms. Agarwal has been the former coordinator of the BCA programme at VVM’s Shree Damodar College, Margao.

The Resource Person initiated her discussion by providing insights on the fundamentals of Industry 4.0 and digital marketing by highlighting inbound marketing, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, email marketing, content marketing, affiliate marketing, mobile marketing, social media marketing and campaigning. Ms. Agarwal elaborately discussed the do’s and don’ts of virtual campaigning. Ms. Agarwal explained the trends in industry 4.0 and digital marketing like the Internet of Things and Cloud, productivity enhancement through automation and optimization, personalization and customization, cognitive computing, predictive analytics, robotic process automation, artificial reality, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, big data, machine learning, etc. She also highlighted the advantages of digital marketing for both the virtual and traditional brick-and-mortar businesses. Ms. Agarwal mentioned that frequent misconfiguration faced by manufacturers, operational disruptions and cyber threats remain the key challenges in digital marketing. She made the seminar more interactive by providing few business cases of her clients. Ms. Agarwal concluded the seminar by discussing the several career opportunities available in digital marketing.

Ms. Agarwal responded to all the questions raised by the participants. Mr. Kirsten Da Costa, student of TY BBA(FS)-A proposed the Vote of Thanks. The students provided a positive feedback about the seminar and appreciated the efforts of the Department for consistently engaging the industry-academia connect through activities.
