Inauguration of NDLI CLUB @Damodar & KAVYOTSAV 1.0- An Intercollegiate Poetry Competition.

NDLI PosterThe Ministry of Education, under its National Mission on Education through ICT has entrusted IIT Kharagpur to host, coordinate and set-up National Digital Library (NDL). The National Digital Library is a digital library that integrates all existing digitized and digital contents across Institutions of the nation and provides users with a single-window access with e-learning facility. National Digital Library (NDL) provides educational materials in various languages, in all disciplines. To make use of these resources, Shree Damodar College has registered all the students and faculty members in the National Digital Library (NDL) Portal https://www.ndl.gov.in and has formed a Club known as NDLI Club@Damodar. The College has registered the NDLI Club@ Damodar on 31st October 2020 with 37 NDLI Club members as office bearers.

The NDLI CLUB @Damodar and Readers’ Club of the College jointly organized KAVYOTSAV 1.0, an Intercollegiate Poetry Competition to mark the Golden Jubilee celebration of Vidya Vikas Mandal along with the virtual inaugural ceremony of NDLI CLUB @Damodar on 25th November, 2020 at 11:00 am on Google Meet.

The event started with the welcome address by the Principal Prof. Prita D. Mallya, which was followed by the inauguration of the NDLI CLUB @Damodar at the hands of the Principal by virtually cutting the ribbon.

The Principal also launched an awareness video and a poster on the e-resources available on NDLI Portal, created by the studenKavyotsav Inaugrationt members of the Club.

The Inaugural function was followed by KAVYOTSAV 1.0, an Intercollegiate Poetry Competition, which was conducted in four languages: English, Hindi, Konkani and Marathi. Around 180 participants attended the Programme. 48 students from 16 Higher Education Institutions from the State participated in the competition.

There were 15 participants each in the English and Hindi categories, 8 for Konkani and 10 participants for Marathi.

The judges for the event were: Dr. Uday Barad and Ms. Gauravi Khaunte for English, Ms. Sindhu Sinai Assoldekar and Ms. Smita Darshetkar for Hindi, Ms. Nutan Sakhardande, Ms. Rekha Rao and Mr. Saiesh Poi Panandikar for Konkani, and Ms. Suvidha Tuekar and Mr. Shailesh Sanzgiri for Marathi.
