

The event began with a formal inauguration ceremony by watering the plant at the hands of prominent dignitaries Shri Nilesh Cabral, Minister for Environment, Government of Goa, PMJF Lion Erle Brito, District Governor, District 317-B, PMJF Lion Glenda Brito,First Lady District 317-B, MJF Lion Manoj Manek, First Vice District Governor, District 317-B, PMJF Lion Jaiamol Naik, Second Vice District Governor, District 317-B; Lion Ashwin Kumar Karpe District Cabinet Secretary, District 317-B ;Lion Adrian Torres, District Chairperson – E-Waste Drive, District 317-B; MJF Lion Ashwin kumar Karpe District Cabinet Secretary, District 317-B; PMJF Leo Lion Emir Brito Leo District President District 317-B; Dr Edwin Barreto, Vice Principal of the College and Ms. Ashwina Tari Volvoikar, Convenor of Green Club (Vasundhara).
The Environment Minister, Nilesh Cabral enlightened the gathering by highlighting the need to find solutions to the problem faced by people. By referring his visits to Portugal and the Netherlands, he mentioned that both the countries were marching forward in making use of renewable energy. He further mentioned that youth should take up the challenge to solve issues faced by the State. Following this, the District Governor of Lions International District-317-B for Goa and parts of Kartnataka Erle Brito addressed the gathering mentioning that the country is facing huge challenge of surmounting e-waste which was being dumped at a rapid rate.
E-waste collection drive was also conducted, wherein students brought their old and non-functional electronic devices for proper disposal. 160 students attended this campaign.
