The Department of Economics & Banking organized a virtual Guest Lecture for the students of SY B.Com on ‘Components of Business Environment’ on 17th December, 2020 from 12.00 to 1.00 p.m. Ms. Rochila D’Costa, Manager, Corporate Strategy-Market Excellence at Mindtree, Bangalore was the speaker for the session. 53 students attended the session.
Ms. Queency Silva a student of SY B.Com introduced the Resource Person. The Macroeconomics of Business Environment was the key theme of the discussion. Ms. Rochila emphasized the importance of PESTLE analysis for every business in the Indian Economy. She further explained in detail the political, economical, socio-cultural, technological, legal and environmental landscape by taking up relevant case studies of companies like Amul, Paytm, Netflix, L&T Construction, the Lehman Brothers, etc, under each landscape. She also highlighted upon the working of the business cycle and its impact on the economy.
Mr. Shrikant Madar was the compere for the session. The session ended with Ms. Farah Mendonca proposing the Vote of Thanks. Assistant Professors in Economics, Ms. Farah Mendonca and Mr. Shrikant Madar organised the Guest Lecture.
