Guest Lecture: “From Waste to Wealth: Mastering the Art of Composting”

The Department of Economics & Banking organized a guest lecture as a part of the Sustainable Development subject. The lecture aimed to enlighten students on the significance of composting in sustainable development. The Resource Person for the session was Mr. Abhinav Apte, a Certified Energy Auditor, and the founder of Compost Ville.

Mr. Abhinav Apte commenced the session by providing a theoretical knowledge of composting in  sustainable development. He elaborated on the detrimental effects of waste accumulation on the environment and emphasized the urgent need for effective waste management strategies.

In addition to theoretical lecture, Mr. Abhinav Apte conducted a live demonstration to showcase the practical aspects of composting. He illustrated the process of composting, type of waste that can be used for composting. The demonstration provided students with hands-on experience and practical insights into implementing composting techniques. 28 students from F Y B. Com attended the session.

Overall, the session was a resounding success, inspiring students to take proactive steps towards waste reduction and environmental conservation.
