The First Year BBA(FS) students visited the Strawberry plantation Velim, Netravali on 2nd February as part of their study visit under Environmental Studies. 56 students accompanied by 7 teachers went on the visit. Students got abundant information on Strawberry cultivation from the members of a Self Help Group (SHG) of Velim Netravali, who cultivate and manage the farm. A worker Smt. Laxmi explained the cultivation methods, the environmental conditions required for plantations and overall production. Students were made aware that strawberries can be grown in Goa and this farm has potential for Ecotourism.
