Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao, organised a farewell function for the Third Year students of all programmes on 25th March in the multipurpose hall.The students entered the hall wearing graduation gowns and holding a lit candle. The candle flame symbolised the knowledge that the students had acquired over the three years spent in the college. The programme began with an address by Principal Dr. Prita Mallya. Later, Vice-Principal Dr. Sanjay Sawant Dessai, Ms. Nirmala Gopinathan, Ms. Sneha Lotlikar and Ms. Ekta Agarwal addressed the graduating students and recounted their positive experiences while teaching the students.
Students Deepika, Meghvi and Savia from TY B.COM, Pranita from TYBCA and Avita from TYBBA shared their experiences in the College and thanked the teachers, other staff members and their classmates for some wonderful memories. The First & Second Year students put up a lively entertainment programme that included songs, games, spot prizes, a dance, a band and a PowerPoint presentation. There was also an “Oscar Awards” ceremony where various talents of students were acknowledged. Awards were given in categories like Ms. Fashionista, Mr/Ms. Innovator, Most Studious Student, etc. The comperes for the function were Ms. Amruta Katigeri and Ms. Froila Fernandes from SY B.COM.
Later the much awaited ceremony was held. TY students joyously stood with their classmates wearing their graduation gowns and hats. At the end of the ceremony, the students enthusiastically threw their hats high up in the air while Mr. Pranav Bhandarkar from FYBCOM captured the moment on his camera.
Finally each graduating student received a framed photograph of themselves with their classmates and teachers. This memento would help the students cherish their memories of the College forever.
The volunteers from the First and Second year had put up a beautiful photo booth. At the end of the function the third year students headed to the photo booth to click numerous pictures with their friends and teachers.
