Financial Literacy is a core life skill for participating in modern society. The need for financial literacy has gained greater significance in light of the recent demonetization and the hardships faced by the common man.
“Young Leaders” an initiative by BBA (Financial Services) Department to educate youngsters in this direction. The programme was designed for students in schools and higher secondary schools.
13 Government Schools (NSQF students), viz. GHS Junabazar- Ponda, GHS Sadar-Ponda, GHS Kundaim, GHS Ganjem-Usgao, GHS Zuarinagar, GHS Sada-Vasco, GHS Vasco Main, GHS Borda, GHS Malakarnem- Sanguem, GHS Malakarnem- Quepem, GHS Honda, GHS Dona Paula and GHS Gurim-Mapusa all over Goa were covered under this programme held from 16th January to 25th January 2017.
A group of 32 Students from First Year, Second Year and Third Year BBA (FS) conducted the programme. The students used PowerPoint presentations, role plays, skits, games, quizzes and such other activities to put across the importance of savings and investment. Topics covered under this programme were Savings, Investment, Banking, Insurance and Demonetisation. Students of Government Schools were very interactive and enjoyed the programme. It was a great learning experience for the students of BBA (FS) Department. BBA (FS) Department looks forward to carry out similar activities in the future.
