Exploring 3D Visualization

The Department of Computer Science organized a captivating guest lecture for TY BCA students, on “Exploring 3D Visualization” in the smart classroom. Mr. Kiran Naik Muli, V.I. at Industrial Training Institute, Bicholim, was the Resource Person for the session.

The session commenced with a visually engaging PowerPoint presentation where Mr. Kiran proudly showcased his diverse portfolio, ranging from projects undertaken for clients to his own forays into the realm of 3D design. The audience was treated to a captivating display of both beginner-level and advanced projects, including texturing, modeling, detailing, rendering, and more.

Recognizing the novice status of students in the world of Blender, Mr. Kiran thoughtfully provided a hands-on demonstration, initiating the audience with the creation of a simple iPhone model. With expert finesse, he guided through the process of object manipulation, demonstrating techniques to drag and reshape the digital constructs.

Subsequently, Mr. Kiran delved into the intricacies of color into our 3D creations. To illustrate this, he employed a model of our college building, which he had meticulously designed, and walked us through the intricacies of rendering the model to life. The final segment of the session featured a captivating demonstration on the art of object manipulation, exemplified through a meticulously crafted 3D car model. Mr. Kiran’s  instruction included grouping various car components, employing frame sets, configuring lengths, and skillfully wielding animation tools to animate the model’s movement.

Mr. Kiran’s demonstrations were lucid and easily digestible, making complex 3D visualization concepts accessible to all attendees. The session also unveiled the art of lighting techniques and rendering in Blender. The students learned how to incorporate and fine-tune light sources, witnessing the remarkable transformation during rendering. He offered sage advice on embarking on a freelancing journey within the 3D visualization domain.

67 TY BCA students attended the session. Mr. Kiran’s expertise and engaging delivery left an indelible impression, equipping our students with the knowledge and motivation to embark on their own creative journeys in the realm of 3D visualization.
